Park Way House
This house is located in a gated residential community, far from the urban center of the city, specifically in the Park Way neighborhood, where the predominant occupation is single-family homes.
The objective of the project, in alignment with the interests of the owners, was to construct a single-story house on a large plot (42 m frontage and 43.5 m depth) with low construction costs.
The design consists of a single volume, a rectangular prism, positioned near the front boundary of the lot and parallel to the street. This placement creates two desired relationships: one with the street, which is more austere and controlled, and another with the dense greenery at the back of the lot, which is more generous and open.
Following a strict structural modulation based on spans varying between 3, 6, and 12 meters, the internal spaces were arranged, along with some voids whose purpose is to sectorize the program, create internal gardens, and establish connections with the street and external gardens.
The structural modulation, combined with the use of the most traditional construction techniques known locally, resulted in low construction costs, thereby helping to achieve one of the important premises of the project.
