Na Praia | Store and Cafés
From the predetermined selection of materials—steel and natural bamboo—chosen for their local availability and cost efficiency, the projects were designed to integrate these elements into a modular configuration, ensuring ease and speed of construction.
The building housing the store and cafés features a metal structure. In plan, seven 5-meter spans run longitudinally, while two 6.5-meter spans define the transversal direction, resulting in a 5×6.5-meter grid that guides spatial organization. The steel framework, painted white, creates a striking contrast with the natural bamboo, which is incorporated into the ceiling, access doors, and sunshading elements (brises), reinforcing the project’s material identity and environmental responsiveness.
