House Flora

Located in a residential condominium in Jardim Botânico, this residence embraces the site’s topography while unveiling expansive views of the surrounding cerrado landscape. The single-story layout follows the natural slope of the terrain, positioning a scenic overlook where the main rooms open entirely to the unobstructed view.

Access to the site begins at a higher elevation, where an open platform sits above the house’s roof. From there, a descending path follows the terrain’s natural incline, leading to the main living level, where the landscape is framed through the living and dining areas. The program unfolds in a sequential flow from public to private spaces, all sheltered under a flat reinforced concrete slab. Bedrooms and the office are strategically positioned to maximize views and natural light, while a central corridor connects these spaces to the covered garage and service areas. A generous veranda runs along the entire house, and at a certain point, it extends outward to form a wooden deck and pool area at the building’s edge.

The structure consists of a horizontal plane of concrete slabs and beams supported by two concrete walls clad in moledo stone. This system allows for large openings, enhancing the house’s permeability and lightness while maximizing the visual connection with the landscape. The architecture subtly integrates with the natural slope, maintaining a ceiling height that harmonizes with the site’s pre-existing topography.
