Borges House
The plot of this house is located 60 kilometers from Brasilia, surrounded by a landscape of hills, streams and dense vegetation. It is a small farm, and its topography imposes the primordial challenge to the creation of the architectonic space. In face of such a challenge, the intervention looks for a meaning: here, architecture intends to be the sensitive indication of the human action on the territory.
The house will occupy one of the regions of highest altitude in the plot, settling itself according to the given topographic conditions, as to privilege the rich landscape views that extend in the horizon.
The implantation of the house departs from the idea of establishing, with topography, relationships of continuity and limit, evidencing the definition of one place, one “territory”. The desired spaces emerge from these relationships. The first one is collective, related to the experience of contemplation, the terrace/square in the roof. The second is individual, and it relates to the everyday life, the living space.
