House A

House A

Located near Lake Paranoá, the site of the house is set in a residential condominium with views of Oscar Niemeyer’s JK Bridge. The residence is composed of three volumes arranged at different levels, following the natural slope of the lot and integrating the landscape of the Plano Piloto into the project.

The volume closest to the road contains the arrival platform of the house, where the large open plaza and pool are located. A storage room, gym, and sauna are discreetly placed beneath the platform. The plaza connects directly to the second volume, which houses the more public interior functions, such as the office, living/dining room, kitchen, service area, and garage. A subterranean passage connects to the last volume, which accommodates the more private areas of the house, such as suites and family rooms. The roof of the social area allows for the creation of a second plaza with a lookout point overlooking Brasília’s urban center.

The living and leisure spaces are seamlessly integrated, establishing a clear relationship between space and function through well-defined volumetry. The volumes are structured with reinforced concrete and load-bearing walls, and inside, wooden finishes highlight the internal-external contrast. This structural system enables cantilevers in the two upper blocks, creating a sense of the house being gently perched on the terrain.
